The Dutch costume designer Tilly Zegers has selected some of the most striking artworks and murals I created for the iconic nhow Amsterdam Rai hotel, weaving a visual tapestry for a photoshoot of unusual beauty. The settings chosen for this shoot are not mere backdrops; they are grand visual compositions that range from the printed floors of the lobby to the magnificent panoramic mural adorned with giant Catrinas that presides over the cocktail bar, as well as the immersive curved mural that wraps around the restaurant.
Zegers’ costumes, an explosion of colors and shapes, encapsulate a pop surrealism that integrates perfectly with the vibrant palette of my hospitality art, creating a synergy that transcends fashion and static art. Each garment designed by Zegers not only complements but also amplifies the spatial storytelling of the murals, engaging in a dialogue of creativity that defies the boundaries between artistic disciplines.
In this dreamlike world, fantasy and surrealism intertwine with art for spaces and fashion, giving rise to a complete sensory experience.
