HOSPITALITY ART: The mural featuring a Geisha, created for the headboards of the “East” guest rooms at the hotel, emerges as the backdrop for a new feature, this time by the fashion magazine Vriendin.
Of all the hospitality art projects I have executed over the last six years, the work for nhow Amsterdam Rai has been the most frequently used context for media features, particularly in fashion magazines. I believe that both the hotel’s concept itself—a fusion of global cultures—and the way I visually developed it, creating a rich visual universe dressed in fresh and irreverent Pop Art, make this project exceptionally inspiring for creatives.
The exoticism of the intricate compositions, developed as large-scale murals, constructs a world with its own iconography and symbols. Here, reality is transformed into colors and dreams filled with surrealism and passion—a testament to the power of spatial storytelling.
In conclusion, the art created for hotels like nhow Amsterdam Rai has not only served as a stage for fashion editorials but has also reaffirmed my belief in art as a medium to inspire, provoke, and enrich. Through this project, I have had the opportunity to explore how a spatial artist can influence the atmosphere of a room and, in turn, how that space can give a new dimension to art. The enthusiastic reception by renowned magazines like Vriendin symbolizes the success of this vision and drives me to continue exploring the limitless possibilities of design for spaces.
