Nhow Amsterdam Rai Check-in Hall

NHOW AMSTERDAM RAI HOTEL

Check-in Hall

THE CHALLENGE

The hotel’s entrance lobby lacked a narrative identity coherent with the cultural fusion concept at the core of nhow Amsterdam Rai.

THE SOLUTION

Design of an immersive visual system that transforms the lobby into a cohesive experiential environment: a large column originating at the center of the lobby and scaling up to the first floor, a large mandala-shaped vinyl defining its base, and a second large-scale vinyl on the check-in desk wall — all forming a single unified visual universe.

Inspiration drawn from traditional Japanese art and M.C. Escher’s geometric transformations is expressed through orange-red Koi carp — symbols of fortune and perseverance — ascending against an aquatic background to generate an illusion of perpetual movement.

The mandalas fuse inspiration from India’s millennia-old art and design with Pop Art aesthetics and details tied to the hotel’s branding.

The visual system developed for these spaces extended to print, digital, and social media brand communication materials.
