Creative designs for the hotel`s lobby

nhow is an international hotel chain belonging to NH Hotels based on a disruptive concept in which each hotel is in itself a unique work of Art, with architecture and interior design taken care of in every detail along with an innovative design based on large murals dimensions that provide the spaces with an environment in which creativity and inspiration flow in each wall.
nhow Amsterdam RAI is a 4-star hotel located next to the Amsterdam RAI Convention Center whose creative concept is based on the mixture of the different cultures of the world.
As a freelance collaborator for the architecture studio GLG Architects, I designed large pieces for the hotel’s looby

The pieces that I developed for the hotel lobby act as the visitor’s first contact with the visual atmosphere that will accompany them during their nhow experience. The mix of cultures that inspires the nhow Amsterdam Rai concept takes shape in this first hotel stay through the combination of visual codes related to Japanese and Indian cultures.
1. Giant mandala located on the ground, at the base of the column that presides over the reception area.
2. The column scales from the entrance of the building to the second floor. For the design of its covering, I was inspired by the traditional Japanese pictorial style and Escher’s work. The composition portrays a group of carps swimming upstream in a scene full of surrealism and color.
3. A second Mandala is placed on the ground next to the escalator.
4. On the wall next to the reception, a third Mandala is shown only in one of its halves so that, through the reflection of a large mirror located on the ceiling, it can be completed.
