GEISHAS
The Geisha gallery features the projects where I explore the iconic Japanese tradition and transform it into a powerful symbol of femininity and independence. Through my work, I aim to reshape the historical perception of Geishas, which has often been linked to the submission of women to men, and instead portray them as symbols of strength, sensuality, and empowerment.
By transforming the Geisha into a woman or transgender woman that is free, independent, and provocative, I seek to challenge traditional gender roles and stereotypes. My purpose with these Geisha-related art projects is to dismantle harmful historical conceptions and replace them with a vision of femininity that is both powerful and liberating.
